That's what i'm gonna do, I gotta let it go, I gotta let it be ... it is what it is and that's all there is to it ... so i'm going to remind myself of these few prayers everyday ... as it were =)
The Serenity Prayer
GOD grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as HE did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that HE will make ALL things right if I surrender to HIS WILL;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
and SUPREMELY HAPPY with HIM FOREVER in the next.
AMEN.
- Reinhold Niebuhr

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge HIM and HE will direct your paths"
Proverbs 3: 5-6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
May today there be peace within,
May you trust GOD that you are exactly where you are meant to be,
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of FAITH,
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the LOVE that has been given to you,
May you be content knowing that you are a CHILD OF GOD,
Let this present settle into your bones,
and allow your SOUL the freedom to SING, DANCE, PRAISE AND LOVE,
It is there for each and everyone of us ...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered, FORGIVE them anyways,
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives, BE KIND anyways,
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies, SUCCEED anyways,
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you, BE HONEST AND SINCERE anyways,
What you spend years creating others could destroy overnight, CREATE anyways,
If you find serenity and happiness some may be jealous, BE HAPPY anyways,
The good you do today will often be forgotten, DO GOOD anyways,
Give the best you have and it will never be enough, GIVE YOUR BEST anyways,
In the final analysis, it is between you and GOD. It was never between you and them anyways.
I will remember these words everyday .... thank you JESUS!!!! AMEN!

January 8, 2010 - El Porron
So i'm changing the format of these reviews due to previous stated reasons (if you read my blog, you would know those reasons, hehe) my reviews will have to be brief if I intend at all to be reviewing restaurants!
Well a new restaurant opened up in my neighborhood called El Porron (1123 First Avenue b/w 61st & 62nd Sts, 212-207-8349), www.elporronnyc.com. The chef is named Mr. Gee, literally. Mike and I stopped in here for dinner one day, coz I kept bothering him about how, "wow doesn't spanish tapas sound deeeelish???" LOL. I don't drop hints apparently, just bombs. Ha! =)
But we were both really glad we went and have definitely put El Porron on our "return to" list along with "Catch de Fish", which we have yet to get back to though we've discussed it innumerable times! The thing is, we aren't frequent "re-visitors" b/c there are so many new places to try it's hard to justify going back somewhere if you haven't yet been to all the other spots you've been listing (and the list keeps growing, Brett, we were talking about this!) We do sometimes frequent Green Bo (xiao long bao) and Mee Noodle (cold sesame noodles!) and Five Guys (who doesn't?). So back to El Porron, here's what we ordered:
Appetizers:
(1) Croquetas de Pollo (on recommendation of server) - delicious! If you like fried chicken, give it a whirl! The tomato sauce is fantastic!
(2) Albondigas de Ternera - Fabulous! These were absolutely melt-in-your-mouth savory balls of deliciousness! Ha!
Main Course:
Paella Valenciana - Mike and I split the paella b/c it was HUGE!!!! Oh man and really, really good too! I really haven't had too many paellas in my lifetime but I might have to start really trying them more frequently!
At the end of our dinner Mr. Gee even came out and greeted the guests and made us his own version of Port Wine for a dessert! He gave the port as a complimentary gift to all of the patrons there that night ... it was STRONG, but of course, very good!!!!
In short, Mike and I would definitely return to this spot, we stare at it longingly all the time, but haven't yet made it back in through the doors yet .... sigh ... some day. =)

Good-Bye, One last time
Good-bye, it's time to fly,
Good-bye, just one more time,
Good-bye, a part of me dies,
Good-bye, no more tries,
Good-bye, is all i have left to say,
because you made me feel this way,
All the times I fought to save your face,
You didn't hesitate to throw it all away,
And now after all that we have shared,
This is how it will end, in cold despair,
What tears I had, I could not spill,
No matter how much hurt I know I feel,
I can only leave it in GOD's loving hands,
And pray for you, as I always have.
Good-bye my friend, I'll leave you then,
Maybe one day we'll meet again,
Maybe in passing, maybe as friends,
Maybe someday you'll understand my pain,
You'll understand why I had to say good-bye,
My heart is breaking, as it bitterly cries,
Good-bye, good-bye, one last time.
Good-bye, just one more time,
Good-bye, a part of me dies,
Good-bye, no more tries,
